Events

Mixing the love of cooking with the passion of your hobby is always a good combination. At Two Jays Catering we have been lucky enough to have done this time and time again!

Nicola has been involved in the motorsport of rallying all of her life, spectating on rallies at an early age, before buying a car of her own and competing as a driver for around 20 years, before helping to organise events.

We have catered on the British Rally Championship (BRC), and have even been lucky enough to travel to Sweden to cater on the World Rally Championship (WRC) for a privateer rally team!

Rally Team Catering

Nicola has catered on the BRC for divers such as Mark Higgins, Simon Hughes and Olly Marshall at ProSpeed Motorsport, looking after a 3 car team and feeding around 12 team personnel at events all over the UK.

Another chance to work on the BRC came with Cumbrian team CA1 Sport, with John MacCrone and the Culina Palletforce Racing Team, again working all over the UK, although this time catering for around 40 sponsors, guests and team personnel, serving them with Breakfast Baps, Hot Roast Pork and Beef Sandwiches, Roast Potatoes and of course Tea and Cake in the afternoon!

In 2014 Nicola headed out to Sweden with the CA1 Sport Team to cater on the WRC for local driver Fredrik Åhlin and the Finnish Dmack drivers, Kristian Sohlberg and Jari Ketomaa and co-driver Kaj Lindström. This really tested Nicolas outside catering skills, cooking for more than 20 people in temperatures of -15!

Jari Ketomaa said, as as he got his second helping of food, “I don’t normally eat on events, but as the food here is so good, I am!”

In 2015 a special Rally Festival event was held at the Knockhill Racing Circuit to mark the 20th anniversary of the late Colin McRae winning the WRC in 1995. Nicola went along for 2 days to provide a BBQ for the sponsors and guests of John MacCrone Rallying and CA1 Sport. Catering for around 30 people each day, with guests such as Jimmy and Alistair McRae, Steve Bannister, Robert Reid and Nicky Grist all calling in and using our hospitality tent.

With Nicola having been involved with rallying all of her life, she fully understands how the teams and events work, and is happy to provide all types of food for your team or guests. We are always happy to give a quote to cater on events all over the UK or even the world, please just ask!

Rally Catering

Two Jays Catering has been out with their mobile catering van on rallies across the North of England.

Based in service parks serving up to 5 hundred people a day. Feeding the competing crews, service crews, marshals, spectators and organisers, with a selection of Breakfast Baps, Burgers, Curries, Stews, Hot Pork Baps, Cake as well as hot and cold drinks.

We have catered on single venue events, such as the Lookout stages at Melbourne near York, and the SMC Stages at Weeton Camp near Blackpool as well as multi venue rallies such as the Pendragon Stages at Warcop in Cumbria and the Malton Forest Rally in Dalby Forest.

We have also provided food at the start of the Ryemoor Trophy Rally, and then served breakfast to all the competitors who made it back to the finish in the morning!

If you are looking for a catering van to come to your event to supply your competitors and spectators then please get in touch with Nicola on nicola@twojayscatering.co.uk

“Just to say how good your catering was yesterday. Brilliant one of the best at a rally!” Olive Bannister

Tour de France Grand Départ

When the Tour De France came to Yorkshire for the Grand Départ in 2014, we went to West Tanfield for 3 days with the catering van to serve the thousands of people who had come to Yorkshire to watch the event. What an atmosphere!

We teamed up with some friends who were running an ice cream stall, and we had the catering van there serving home cooked food such as Curries, Chilli and Sweet and Sour as well as a stall selling slices of yummy home-made tray bakes and cake…  In fact we sold over 700 slices of cake over the weekend!

Tour De Yorkshire Cycle Race

In 2015 the “Welcome to Yorkshire” Agency contacted us to cater on the inaugural Tour De Yorkshire for the ASO media team. This involved us being based at the finish line of each days stages, so we could serve a hot meal and drinks to the 45 people involved in filming and creating the spectacular event (including the head of Welcome to Yorkshire Sir Gary Verity and the general director of the Tour de France Christian Prudhomme!)

We shall be repeating the experience in 2016.

Castle Hill Hospital Staff Family Fun Day

Since 2013 we have been involved with the Family Fun Day at Castle Hill Hospital. This event has grown in size over the years and we have gone from selling hog roast sandwiches to about 200 people to now catering for over 1000. Most recently serving Hot Pork Baps, Pizza and Hot Dogs.
